freedomjazzchoirlogoFriday, March 4, 2016 the HJF Freedom Jazz Choir will perform in a special free to the public Black History Month concert with the Marcus Shelby Ensemble at the Raven Theater. This season will focus the music and life of Louis Armstrong who found his musical inspiration at juvenile hall at age 11, then went on change the world with his music, humility, humor and love for mankind. Armstrong’s signature song, “What a Wonderful World,” will provide the theme of this year’s Black History Month program.

The Freedom Jazz Choir is open to ALL ages who want to participate, including new singers! No experience is necessary. If you’d like to join the choir for this special performance, please fill out the form BELOW.

There is no cost to join. The only requirements are that you commit to four rehearsals and participate in the March 4th performance. The four required rehearsals prior to the performance will be at the Hilliard-Comstock Middle School, 2750 West Steele Lane, Santa Rosa, CA, 95403 from noon to 3pm.

Rehearsals are Saturday afternoons from noon to 3 p.m. on the following dates:

* January 9, 2016

* January 30

* February 6

* February 27

Registration closes on Jan. 9. Fill out the sign-up form above or come early and sign up at the first rehearsal. No new members will be allowed to sign up once the rehearsal starts!
