The brilliant Brazilian composer Guinga returns to Healdsburg as our next special guest in our “Jazz in the Gallery” summer series. Last seen here at the Flying Goat in April, 2005, with a quartet, the critically acclaimed guitarist plays as a solo artist for two shows, 7 and 9 pm, at the gallery on Plaza Street.

Nominated for a Latin Grammy and winner of a coveted Brazilian music award, Guinga has a style that fuses the most melodic elements of Afro-Brazilian music and jazz with modern classical composition. Read the article on Healdsburg Patch for more.

A native of a working-class neighborhood of Rio de Janeiro, Guinga draws on many genres for his playing and writing, and this rare solo concert gives Healdsburg music fans a chance to hear him ‘unplugged’  unadorned and unfiltered. You can find out more at www.guinga.com.

Don’t miss this unique opportunity to spend an evening with one of the greatest living Brazilian musicians in the comfortable and close setting of the HCA Gallery. Buy tickets here.
