September Saturday afternoons in Healdsburg during “crush” is a time to unwind from the hassles of the crowded wine roads and bustling cellars. So we suggest you relax at Seasons of the Vineyard, the tasting bar and gift boutique at 113 Plaza St, on the north side of the Healdsburg Plaza. You can sip selected wines from Ferrari-Carano Winery and Lazy Creek Vineyards while listening to live jazz artists in performance, hand-picked by Healdsburg Jazz for the local audience. No reservations required, and it’s all free!

September 13: Welcome back the Shea Breaux Wells Trio, featuring the stunning vocalist known for her ability to twist the old into something new, “reaching deep into the soil for the root of the piece.” Guitarist Ian Scherer delivers startlingly intricate and beautiful stylings with bright highlights and a deft gypsy touch, while Andrew Emer always brings a wicked sense of mastery, elegance and humor to the bass.  These three will deliver an experience of listening that merges the realms of jazz and singer/songwriter – with a few surprises thrown in.

September 27: Performing the month’s last Saturday is the Batácha Quartet, part of a local eight piece Salsa Orquesta which has been performing around Sonoma County and the Bay Area for 12 years. The quartet plays a variety of Latin music from jazz to Cuban son. Musicians include Sebastian Link on bass, Cricket Segal on flute and soprano sax, Isaac Vandeveer on guitar, featuring Joel Aviles on congas and vocals.
