Every year Healdsburg Jazz shows its appreciation for our members with a special party – for members only! – held at a unique location rarely open to the public. Our sponsors, donors, volunteers  and members provide free music, free food, free beverages, and a welcome chance to rub shoulders with other members in a private party atmosphere.

This year the party will be held on Sunday, Nov. 10 in the roomy Atrium at E&M Electric, the vine-covered building at the corner of Mill St. and East. The entertainment will be provided by the Ken Cook Quartet, headed by pianist Ken Cook, a graduate of the Jazz Studies program at the New England Conservatory and with studies at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. 

Other members of the Quartet include Doug Miller on bass and Alex Aspinall on drums, both of whom regularly play with Cook in his trio. Joining them will be Jason Gillenwater on reeds – saxophone and clarinet – to add another voice to the Latin-accented improvisations. Together they are sure to provide lively, smart jazz in several sets for the music-loving members of Healdsburg Jazz.

As in past years, this is open only to members of Healdsburg Jazz, a non-profit education organization devoted to promoting awareness and appreciation of jazz through performances education programs and our annual Healdsburg Jazz Festival. To join now, please follow this link.

» How can I go? If you’re a Member, you’ve already received your invitation by e-mail. To show our appreciation for your support, you and a guest are invited to the party! If you are a member and you have not received an invite there a few things you can do. First check your junk mail folder – it was sent from our Evite account and could land in “spam.” Or contact our office at healdsburgjazzfestival@gmail.com, or by phone ( 707) 433-4633.

» Can I bring a friend? Yes, you can bring someone along with you. The invitation is good for you and a friend, but neither of you will get in the door without at least one of you being a member! Memberships start at only $35 – and there are always other member benefits.

» Can I join at the door? Yes, if you show up with your checkbook or credit card, you can sign up at the door. But you’ll miss the cool interactive invitation that members are getting in their email right now! All membership levels aid in supporting the Healdsburg Jazz Festival’s mission to “promote awareness and appreciation of jazz by facilitating cross-cultural interaction” though performance and education. » What is a Membership? Basic Membership is only $35, which gets both you and a friend in to the Members Appreciation Party. Other Membership Levels include $50, which includes a free jazz CD from Motema; $100 gets you early admission to HJF events,and on up: there are increased levels and benefits from $250 to $500 to $1000 a year.
